In humanitarian aid, the emphasis is increasingly on disaster preparedness. Nevertheless, acute emergency aid remains an important component of humanitarian work.
More and more people around the world are dependent on humanitarian aid, while at the same time less and less financial resources are available. But how can we combine cheaper with even more effective emergency aid? Among other things, by increasing the capacity and competence of actors on the ground should be further developed and expanded. With its "localisation programme", Welthungerhilfe and its partners are contributing to international efforts to strengthen the role of local and national humanitarian organisations.
