Hunger is the biggest solvable problem in the world. WHH wants to do all it can to find a lasting solution.

One Planet - Zero Hunger – this is the clear goal of Welthungerhilfe (WHH).

A world without hunger – that remains our most important goal. Currently 735 million people are suffering from hunger worldwide. We cannot accept this. And hunger is not decreasing, it is actually growing: the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a global health, economic and social crisis, aggravating the situation. The world is changing rapidly and becoming more complex. That's why we need to continuously adapt and refocus our actions. With our strategy for the next four years, we want to work even more effectively for a world free of hunger and poverty and help achieve the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The motto: "One Planet - Zero Hunger".

Our strategy contains our key factors, which set our work in the next years to achieve our goals.

Our strategy is our compass. It is our response to global challenges and developments such as the rising number of conflicts, the effects of climate change, increasing inequality and the growing number of hungry people worldwide. In the future, WHH will focus even more on understanding the situation and needs of the people it works with on the ground in their specific context. Therefore WHH will work closely with them to find answers that take their interests into account. This holistic approach enables viable and sustainable solutions to hunger and poverty and also takes structural causes into account. In addition, WHH will place even greater emphasis on partnerships – both nationally and internationally.
