Executive Management

The Executive Management is in charge of running Welthungerhilfe's (WHH) affairs. It works in compliance with WHH's charter and with the decisions of the General Assembly and requirements by the Board of Directors. Take a look behind the scenes and get to know the members of the Executive Management here.

Mathias Mogge was appointed Secretary General and CEO of Welthungerhilfe in September 2018. At the beginning of 2026, he took over as President of the European NGO network Alliance2015. In addition, he served on the board of VENRO from 2013 to 2023, most recently as Chair of the Board from 2022 to 2023. He also serves as a voluntary member of the Board of Trustees of the Aid by Trade Foundation, as a member of the Partnership Council of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), and on the Jury of the Justus von Liebig Prize for World Nutrition of the foundation Fiat Panis.

Susanne Fotiadis joined WHH in November 2019 as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. Prior to this, she was for 13 years member of the Management Board of UNICEF Germany and since 2012 Head of Marketing and Fundraising. Susanne Fotiadis holds a degree in business administration. 

Christian Monning joined WHH as Chief Financial Officer in February 2018. He is an expert in finances and brings in more than 30 years of experience in all sectors related to finances. He has been working in international industries and is a global thinking professional with a strong wish to make the world a better place.

Bettina Iseli was appointed Chief Program Officer of WHH in 2024. Her appointment followed a career spanning 19 years in humanitarian and development assistance, including 11 years with WHH. She had served as Director of Programs since 2019. Bettina Iseli holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, a Master’s degree in Humanitarian Assistance from the universities in Bochum and Groningen, and a Master’s degree in Leadership and Development from Zurich.
