Honorary Patron
The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, became the patron of WHH in 2017, following the long tradition started by his predecessors.
Steinmeier was German Foreign Minister from 2005 to 2009, and from December 2013 to February 2017. Born in Detmold, he is the patron of Welthungerhilfe (WHH). In this video he praises the assistance provided during the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa “under the most difficult conditions”.
Since WHH was founded in 1962, all German Presidents have actively supported the organization through their patronage.
