Humanitarian aid in Gaza must be ensured

The escalation in the Middle East conflict has led to a humanitarian catastrophe. The supply of relief items to the population in all affected areas must be ensured

Welthungerhilfe is not active in the Gaza Strip. With great concern we are watching the deterioration of the humanitarian situation across the whole region. Civilians are the main victims of the ongoing violence. Children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities are particularly dependent on support.

Humanitarian aid is committed to the principles of humanity, neutrality, and impartiality. Regardless of terrorist attacks and war, the focus must be on the needs of the suffering people. The supply of relief items such as food, water, medicine, and shelter for the population must be ensured. To achieve this, humanitarian organizations need quick and unhindered access to those in need. Aid workers and civilian infrastructure must not be the target of attacks.
