United Nations' Organisations

Welthungerhilfe’s work is supported by the following United Nations organisations: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) und United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

International refugee protection is at the core of the work of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). As its guardian, the UNHCR monitors the compliance with the Geneva Refugee Convention for the benefit of people fleeing worldwide. UNHCR also provides humanitarian aid in many regions of the world. In complex refugee situations, it can rely on cooperation with other UN and partner organisations, which, according to their expertise, take on various fields of activity, so-called clusters. UNHCR also provides cash and in-kind assistance.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports projects that fight poverty, advocate the protection of human rights and equal treatment of women. The Development Programme advises on the implementation of projects and supports them financially.

UNICEF assists children in need. The Children's Fund relies on a worldwide network of strong partners. Visit website
