Social protection is a fundamental human right, and yet for 4.1 billion people, or 53 percent of the world's population, there is no social protection at all. An unacceptable state for us – especially since social protection systems are a cornerstone of the human right to food.

In our Policy Brief we look at social protection systems as the basis for sustainable development, we look at the four functions of social protection instruments, look at the lessons learned from Covid-19, and have concrete demands for the different actors: the respective national states, international organizations and NGOs, and the private sector.
