WASH Network
703 million people around the world are living without access to safe water and 3.5 billion people have to manage without safe sanitation. The WASH Network would like to change that.
“WA-S-H” stands for water, sanitation and hygiene. 2.2 billion people in the world have no access to safe drinking water and 3.5 billion people have no access to safe sanitation. The WASH Network would like to change that. It is made up of 20 German non-governmental organisations in the area of humanitarian assistance and international development cooperation.
Its key activities include continuous knowledge exchange, improved interlinking of emergency assistance and development cooperation, jointly representing members interests, and public relations. Without adequate water, sanitation and hygiene, food security cannot be guaranteed for all - that is why Welthungerhilfe is involved in the WASH Network.
