Humanitarian Aid Coordinating Committee

The Humanitarian Aid Coordination Committee is the central forum for discussion and coordination between the federal government, non-governmental organisations and other institutions related to humanitarian assistance.

The Humanitarian Aid Coordinating Committee has been meeting regularly since it was founded in 1994. It holds meetings and special sessions, which are attended by representatives of Welthungerhilfe, in the Federal Foreign Office or at the premises of members of the committee.

At these meetings the actors come to agreements about aid measures in concrete crises and they regularly exchange information on issues such as quality, consistency, disaster risk reduction and international coordination of humanitarian assistance. The aim of the Coordinating Committee is to optimise the humanitarian assistance provided or promoted by its members in the interests of those in need.
