FAQ ZeroHungerRun 2026

In our FAQ section, we answer the most frequently asked questions about the ZeroHungerRun 2026 in a clear and concise way.

Who is Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and what happens to my donation?

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of the largest private aid organizations in Germany. We employ a holistic approach, from rapid emergency relief and reconstruction to long-term development cooperation projects with local partner organizations, following the principle of helping people to help themselves.

Since our foundation in 1962, more than 12,000 international projects have been supported in around 72 countries—for a world without hunger and poverty. Your donation is used where it is needed most. Every contribution helps us move closer to our goal: Zero Hunger.

How can I register?

You can register online via this link until the end of the virtual run (September 27, 11:59 pm). For the in-person event, you can also register on-site on Sunday in the Rheinaue.

If you participate in the run in Bonn, you will need a race number. You can collect it before the run:

at Absolute Run running store Bonn (Bonngasse 13a, 53111 Bonn).

IMPORTANT: If you would like to collect race numbers for other people, please bring a signed list with the names of those whose documents you are collecting. The list should include a short statement confirming that you are authorized to collect the documents on their behalf.

When will I receive a registration confirmation?

Everyone who registers online will receive a registration confirmation. If you do not receive one, please send us an email.

How many runners can I register?

When registering, you can use group registration to register as many runners as you like. You can form a team from three people.

IMPORTANT: If you would like to collect race numbers for others for the live run in Bonn, please bring a signed authorization list (see above).

How much is the registration fee?

To help us move closer to our goal of “Zero Hunger,” we kindly ask for a voluntary donation to support our project work. Participation itself does not require an entry fee.

You can specify your donation amount directly during registration. It’s very simple, and all donations go directly to our projects. Thank you very much.

How do I pay my donation?

You can donate directly via PayPal during registration. Alternatively, you can provide your bank details, and your donation will be debited from your account and transferred to WHH.

Will I receive a donation receipt?

We will automatically send you a donation receipt in February of the following year. If you need it earlier, please contact us at team_zerohungerrun(at)welthungerhilfe.de.

For group registrations, only the person who completed the registration will receive a donation receipt.

Where can I find the start list?

You can find the list of all participating runners here.

Is participation possible for people with impairments?

We are very happy to welcome people with impairments to take part in the ZeroHungerRun. Participation is generally possible both in the in-person run and virtually.

The route in the Rheinaue is unfortunately not fully accessible. Nevertheless, anyone who is able to complete the course is welcome to participate. If you have accessibility requirements and would like to take part in the in-person run, please kindly contact us in advance. We will work with you to coordinate suitable participation categories together with our timing team.

Virtual participation is open to everyone. With your registration confirmation, you will receive a link to submit your results. When entering your time, you can optionally use the additional field “disability” to view a participant list by name including your results and certificate. This is not mandatory.

If you would like your time to be included in the overall results list, you can enter your measured time in the general field. For participants who complete their activity using wheelchairs, handbikes, or other wheeled mobility devices, there is a separate category. These groups will be evaluated separately.

If you have further questions or individual accessibility requirments, please feel free to contact us at any time – we will support you as best as possible.

How are teams ranked?

For the in-person run, the times of the three fastest participants per team are counted.

For the virtual run, the times of all participants in each team are added together. The sum of times determines the team result. Rankings are based on total time and average time per participant (total time divided by number of participants). This gives smaller teams a fair chance in every category.

Can companies with different locations participate simultaneously in Bonn and virtually?

Yes, that is exactly what we want to enable. After the run, you can filter results and create your own company ranking.

There are two options:

You run together as one large team. Please note that the club name (company) and team name (e.g. “PowerRunners”) must be identical for each participant

If you want to create some healthy competition between locations, use the same company name but different team names for each location. This allows you to filter results by company and compare locations.

Where can I find the terms and conditions?

You can find the participation terms and conditions for WHH events here.
