By working with public donors, we quadruple the reach of your donation. Your donation enables us to apply for additional funds from public donors such as the German government, the EU, or the United Nations. Can we specify how you use the donation?
Donations that are not tied to a specific project enable us to allocate funds where they are most urgently needed and where we can make the greatest positive impact on people's lives.
However, we understand that it is important for companies to invest their donations in areas that are in line with their own social and sustainability goals. That is why we offer companies the opportunity to select a specific project for donations of €5,000 or more. How does WHH use corporate donations, and does my money really go to the projects?
In 2024, WHH spent €346.5 million. Of this, 90.9% went to project funding. An additional 2.5% was spent on project support abroad. It is imperative to us that you can track how we use your donation. That is why we place great emphasis on transparency.

Is my company's donation to WHH tax deductible?
Donations to WHH are tax deductible in most companies. Please check your country's tax regulations around charitable donations.
How will my company receive a donation receipt from WHH?
At the start of the following year, WHH will automatically send you an annual donation receipt. If you need an individual receipt or duplicate copy, please let us know.

How does WHH inform companies about how they use donations?
We place great importance on transparency and provide companies with comprehensive information about how we use their donations. In our annual report, we provide detailed insights into the projects implemented in the past year and the financing of our work. The report shows exactly where and how the donations were used.
For project-related donations of €5,000 or more, we offer the option of receiving a detailed project report upon request. This report allows you to see exactly what changes your donation has brought about.
Can I use the WHH logo for communication purposes?
Your company is encouraged to provide information about its donation to WHH via its own communication channels. You can publicize your commitment, for example, with the statement “We donate to WHH.” Upon request, we will be happy to provide you with a personalized certificate.
Please note that for tax reasons, companies cannot use communication about a donation for the direct promotion of products.

Are there opportunities for employees to volunteer with WHH?
We greatly appreciate the commitment of volunteers, but we must point out that we only send our own trained employees to the project regions. In our project areas, we have also been working with proven local partner organizations for many years to make optimal use of existing structures and contacts, even in crises.
Unfortunately, this means that we cannot accept offers of voluntary assistance from outsiders. We thank you for your understanding and interest, and welcome any other form of support you would like to offer WHH.
Can you send us certificates with the names of our customers, business partners, and employees if we donate on their behalf?
Yes, we are happy to issue certificates on which you can enter the names of your customers, business partners, and employees.

Are there any companies or industries from which WHH does not accept donations?
Yes—we ask for your understanding that we cannot accept donations from certain industries. These include industries such as weapons, tobacco, gambling, fur production, and pornography.
