WorldRiskReport 2025
The WorldRiskIndex 2025 covers all United Nations member states and thus over 99 percent of the global population. In 2025, risk hotspots remain concentrated in Asia and the Americas, with the Philippines (WRI 46.56) once again ranking at the top of the WorldRiskIndex this year, with India (WRI 40.73) and Indonesia (WRI 39.80) following after. Germany (WRI 4.28) remains in the global midfield, ranking 95th.
The WorldRiskReport 2025 focuses on the topic of floods. Floods are among the most frequent and devastating extreme natural events. Between 2000 and 2019, they affected over 1.6 billion people and caused economic damage of over 650 billion US dollars worldwide. For the first time, the WorldRiskReport 2025 provides an exemplary analysis of a region with regard to the focus topic: flood risks in the Philippines.
