In addition, climate-related extreme weather events have kept us busy in many parts of the world, including heat waves, forest fires and floods. To safeguard against existential risks, social security systems are of great importance for disaster preparedness. The consequences of the Corona pandemic and climate change have made this even more clear in the last two years. The report addresses different forms of social security systems and highlights their social relevance in the context of crises and disasters.
