Welthungerhilfe (WHH) in Iraq
In Iraq, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) works closely with national and local authorities as well as the United Nations and other humanitarian organisations to provide humanitarian assistance and development cooperation to communities affected after the so-called Islamic State (IS) took over large parts of Iraq in 2014. Initially, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) distributed food parcels and provided winterisation assistance in Dohuk and Erbil governorates. Since 2014 Welthungerhilfe (WHH) started to support (internally) displaced people, returnees and host communities in Ninewa governorate and around Mosul.
