Foundations are valuable partners for Welthungerhilfe. With your foundation you can learn about a project or field of activity, follow its progress, get to know people, and monitor “your” project closely. Maybe you already have an idea of how you and your foundation would like to help?

Or perhaps you would like some personal advice on where your donation might be most effective? Either way, we would be happy to work with you through direct personal contact. We would be glad to tell you more about our projects, our quality management system, and the impacts we can achieve together. We are open to your suggestions, and we would be glad to hear from you.

Our focuses

Feel free to get in touch at any time, and together we can develop a roadmap for your strategic involvement. You can support the particular project, region, country, or area of activity that matters most to you. Whichever you choose, we will be there as your partner to make sure your donation has a long-term impact.

We have set ourselves the clear goal of ending hunger (#ZeroHunger) everywhere that we work by 2030.

Our programmes’ core tasks include:

Your project

Our projects are set up to continue working after we leave. They are designed for the long term, and their overall aim is to help as many people as possible to lead an independent and dignified life. Below are a few examples of projects that were successfully implemented thanks to the commitment and support of foundations.

Food and nutrition security in Uganda

Pigeon peas are a pulse grown all over the world. They also have the potential to significantly improve the lives of those facing poverty and undernutrition in Karamoja, Uganda. For this reason Welthungerhilfe has been working jointly with communities on the ground to set up a new project for more intensive pigeon pea cultivation. This project has involved cooperation with 1,729 households and five schools. The current Welthungerhilfe emergency assistance project has also distributed pigeon pea seeds to a further 4,300 households and provided accompanying advice. Thanks to the support of several foundations, this project has been able to make a substantial contribution to the fight against hunger in the entire region.

Building schools in Myanmar

Promoting education and fighting poverty: Welthungerhilfe is offering people a brighter future by setting up schools. The vocational training they provide gives people the prospect of an autonomous and secure future. These activities have also been made possible by the generous support of foundations.

Emergency Assistance in Syria

The situation in Syria as it enters its seventh year of war is alarming; 13.5 million people, including 5.6 million children, urgently need humanitarian assistance. Our project focuses on the victims of the civil war in Northern Syria, providing them with basic foodstuffs in particular.

This intervention has reached: displaced people in three camps on the Turkish border comprising 24,000 individuals in 4,000 families/households, 1,800 individuals from 300 families/households living in a refugee camp in Iraq, as well as 19,200 individuals, returnees and displaced people from 3,200 families/households who have been accommodated in abandoned buildings in the Azaz region. This emergency assistance was only possible thanks to donations from foundations.
