School Meals Coalition

Launched at the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit, the School Meals Coalition brings together governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, research institutions, and development partners to strengthen school meal programs and advance child nutrition, education, and well-being worldwide.

The Coalition supports countries in expanding and improving school meal programs, with a focus on reaching the most vulnerable children and promoting sustainable, locally driven approaches. By fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and encouraging investment in school feeding, the Coalition helps countries build stronger links between nutrition, education, health, and food systems.

The School Meals Coalition includes more than 100 member countries and a growing network of partner organizations committed to making school meals a cornerstone of child development and learning. As a member, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has joined a global movement working to ensure that every child can learn and thrive through access to nutritious food at school.
