GCE – Global Campaign for Education

Over 260 million children and young people around the world do not go to school, and more than 770 million adults cannot read or write. The Global Campaign for Education is an international alliance of non-governmental organisations and unions that works to enable all people to claim their right to education.

For example, this includes critical observation of governments and international organisations such as the World Bank. If these bodies neglect their commitment to better education or if their policies hardly increase education equality, the Global Campaign for Education applies pressure. The alliance has over 120 members worldwide, including eleven organisations in Germany.
