Krombacher Brewery
Clean water saves lives: Krombacher supports the work of Welthungerhilfe with a large-scale drinking water project.
Since August 2019, Krombacher has been supporting the work of Welthungerhilfe in the regions of Kajiado (Kenya) and Dedza (Malawi): the company supports the construction of new water supply facilities and the rehabilitation of existing ones. As a company, Krombacher wants to make a contribution to sustainably strengthening the entire WASH system in these regions, thus giving people access to clean and fresh water.
Krombacher and Welthungerhilfe rely on a holistic concept: authorities, water committees as well as technicians from water and sanitation companies and the users themselves are trained and supported. This ensures that the water supply is secured in the long term by local institutions.
The cooperation was agreed for a total of 13 years: Over three years, Krombacher will support the project implementation and then a foundation of the company will ensure the sustainable success of this work for more than ten years.
