Global Hunger Index 2006

It captures three dimensions of hunger: insufficient availability of food, shortfalls in the nutritional status of childern and child mortality. The report and the ranking of the 119 countries are based on an index developed by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington. The index takes several indicators into account, including child mortality rates and undernourishment, and compares the development of the countries over a period of about 20 years.
